Vetasa-Nīti: The Reed and the Flood (वेतस-नीति)
वेतसो वेगमायातं दृष्टवा नमति नापरे | सरिद्वेगेडव्यतिक्रान्ते स्थानमासाद्य तिष्ठति
vetaso vegam āyātaṃ dṛṣṭvā namati nāpare | sarid-vege ’py atikrānte sthānam āsādya tiṣṭhati ||
सागर बोले—बेंत नदी के वेग को आते देख झुक जाता है, पर अन्य वृक्ष नहीं झुकते। इसलिए जब सरिता का वेग बीत जाता है, तब वह फिर अपने स्थान को पाकर स्थिर खड़ा हो जाता है।
