रणभूमिवर्णनम् — Devāsuropama-yuddha and the ‘River’ Metaphor of the Battlefield
शृणु राजन् स्थिरो भूत्वा संग्रामं शंसतो मम । संजयने कहा--राजन्! जहाँ हाथी, घोड़े और मनुष्योंके शरीरोंका महान् संहार हुआ था, उस संग्रामका मैं वर्णन करता हूँ; आप सुस्थिर होकर सुनिये
śṛṇu rājan sthiro bhūtvā saṅgrāmaṃ śaṃsato mama |
संजय ने कहा—राजन्! स्थिर होकर सुनिए। मैं उस संग्राम का वर्णन करता हूँ, जहाँ हाथियों, घोड़ों और मनुष्यों का महान् संहार हुआ था; आप धैर्यपूर्वक मेरी कथा सुनें।
