सुभूमिकेति विख्याता सरस्वत्यास्तटे वरे । राजन्! सरस्वतीके सुन्दर तटपर वह उन अप्सराओंकी मंगलमयी क्रीडाभूमि है, इसलिये वह स्थान सुभूमिक नामसे विख्यात है

वैशम्पायन बोले—राजन्! सरस्वती के उत्तम तट पर ‘सुभूमिका’ नाम से प्रसिद्ध एक स्थान है; वह उन अप्सराओं की पुण्यमयी क्रीडाभूमि है, इसीलिए वह ‘सुभूमिका’ कहलाता है।
