Vidura’s Censure of Dicing and Warning to the Kurus

अनर्थमर्थ मन्यसे राजपुत्र संग्रन्थनं कलहस्याति घोरम्‌ । तद्‌ वै प्रवृत्तं तु यथा कथंचित्‌ सृजेदसीन्‌ निशितान्‌ सायकांश्ष

anartham arthaṁ manyase rājaputra saṁgranthanaṁ kalahasyāti ghoram | tad vai pravṛttaṁ tu yathā kathaṁcit sṛjed asīn niśitān sāyakāṁś ca |

दुर्योधन बोला—राजकुमार! तुम अनर्थ को ही अर्थ मान रहे हो। यह द्यूत कलह को गूँथने वाला और अत्यन्त भयंकर है। यदि किसी प्रकार यह आरम्भ हो गया, तो यह तीखी तलवारों और बाणों की वर्षा तक का कारण बन जाएगा।
