Vaiśampāyana said: Seeing that great perversion arise in their own arm-strength in the very midst of fighting—and realizing the loss and failure of their mighty divine weapons—he became ashamed. The moment exposes a moral collapse: prowess and sacred martial knowledge, once upheld as disciplined power, now turn unreliable, and the warrior’s pride gives way to humiliation at the sight of his own diminished capacity.
