देवा ऊचु: प्रमर्दितानां वृत्रेण देवानां देवसत्तम | गतिर्भव सुरश्रेष्ठ त्राहि नो महतो भयात्
devā ūcuḥ: pramarditānāṁ vṛtreṇa devānāṁ devasattama | gatir bhava suraśreṣṭha trāhi no mahato bhayāt ||
देवताओं ने कहा—हे देवप्रवर! वृत्र ने देवताओं को कुचल दिया है। हे सुरश्रेष्ठ! आप ही हमारी गति बनें; इस महान् भय से हमारी रक्षा करें।
