हृततेजोबला: सर्वे तदा सेन्द्रा दिवौकस: । ब्रह्माणं शरणं जम्मुर्वत्राद् भीता महासुरात्,उस समय तेज और बलसे हीन हुए इन्द्र आदि सम्पूर्ण देवता महान् असुर वृत्रसे भयभीत हो ब्रह्माजीकी शरणमें गये
sañjaya uvāca | hṛtatejobalāḥ sarve tadā sendrā divaukasaḥ | brahmāṇaṃ śaraṇaṃ jagmur vṛtrād bhītā mahāsurāt ||
संजय बोले—उस समय इन्द्र सहित समस्त देवता तेज और बल से हीन हो गये। महान् असुर वृत्र से भयभीत होकर वे ब्रह्माजी की शरण में गये।
