ज्वलन्तीमन्तरिक्षे तां ज्वालाभिरिव संवृताम् । असम्भ्रान्तस्तदा राजन् पिता देवव्रतस्तव
jvalantīm antarikṣe tāṁ jvālābhir iva saṁvṛtām | asambhrāntas tadā rājan pitā devavratas tava ||
संजय बोले—राजन्, तब आपके पिता देवव्रत (भीष्म) तनिक भी विचलित हुए बिना, आकाश में उसे ज्वालाओं से चारों ओर घिरी हुई-सी, प्रज्वलित अवस्था में देखते रहे।
