Garuḍa Array and the Ardhacandra Counter-Formation
अपतत् सहसा राजन् महोल्केव नभस्तलात्
apatat sahasā rājan maholkeva nabhastalāt | aṣṭabhir navabhir bhīṣmaḥ śaktiṃ ciccheda patribhiḥ ||
संजय बोले—हे राजन्! वह शक्ति आकाश से बड़ी उल्का के समान सहसा गिर पड़ी। अन्तरिक्ष में ज्वालाओं से घिरी-सी उस प्रज्वलित शक्तिको देखकर तुम्हारे पिता देवव्रत (भीष्म) तनिक भी विचलित न हुए; उन्होंने आठ-नौ बाणों से उसे टुकड़े-टुकड़े कर दिया।
