Garuḍa Array and the Ardhacandra Counter-Formation
युध्यमानस्य संग्रामे व्यूढे रजसि चोत्थिते
yudhyamānasya saṅgrāme vyūḍhe rajasi cotthite | jighāṃsantaṃ yudhāṃ śreṣṭha tadā āsīt tumulaṃ mahat ||
संजय बोले—राजन्! जब संग्राम छिड़ा और धूल के बादल उठ खड़े हुए, तब योद्धाओं में श्रेष्ठ भीष्म को मारने की इच्छा से लोग उस पर टूट पड़े; उस समय युद्ध बड़ा तुमुल हो गया। उस रण में इतनी धूल थी कि कुछ दिखाई नहीं देता था; केवल धनुष की टंकार से ही पता चलता था कि प्रतिद्वन्द्वी लड़ रहा है, और बहुत-से योद्धा स्पर्श से ही शत्रु को पहचान लेते थे।
