एतद्।ि नित्यं यत्नेन पद रक्ष्यं नराधिप । बहुप्रत्यर्थिकं होतद् राज्यं नाम कुरूद्धह,“कुरुश्रेष्ठ! नरेश्वर! राज्यके बहुत-से शत्रु होते हैं; अतः इसकी सदा ही यत्नपूर्वक रक्षा करनी चाहिये”
etad hi nityaṁ yatnena padaṁ rakṣyaṁ narādhipa | bahupratyarthikaṁ hy etad rājyaṁ nāma kurūdvaha ||
वैशम्पायन बोले—हे नरेश! प्रत्येक पग पर इसका सदा यत्नपूर्वक रक्षण करना चाहिए; क्योंकि ‘राज्य’ नामक यह सत्ता बहुत-से प्रतिद्वन्द्वियों और शत्रुओं से घिरी रहती है, हे कुरुश्रेष्ठ!
