ऊर्जावतीं महापुण्यां मधुमतीं त्रिवर्त्मगाम्‌ । त्रिलोकगोफ्तीं ये गड्डां संश्रितास्‍्ते दिवं गता:

Transliteration

Ūrjāvatīṁ mahāpuṇyāṁ madhumatīṁ trivartmagām | Trilokagoptīṁ ye Gaṅgāṁ saṁśritās te divaṁ gatāḥ ||

Translation

सिद्ध बोले—गंगाजी ओजस्विनी, महापुण्यमयी, मधुर जलराशि से परिपूर्ण और भूतल, आकाश तथा पाताल—इन तीन मार्गों पर विचरनेवाली हैं; वे तीनों लोकों की रक्षिका हैं। जो उनकी शरण में आते हैं, वे स्वर्ग को प्राप्त होते हैं।
