अर्चिष्मानर्चित: कुम्भो विशुद्धात्मा विशोधन: । अनिरुद्धो5प्रतिरथ: प्रद्युम्नोडमितविक्रम:
bhīṣma uvāca | arciṣmān arcitaḥ kumbho viśuddhātmā viśodhanaḥ | aniruddho 'pratirathaḥ pradyumno 'mitavikramaḥ ||
भीष्म ने कहा—वे अर्चिष्मान हैं—अनन्त किरणों से देदीप्यमान; अर्चित हैं—ब्रह्मादि समस्त लोकों द्वारा पूजित; कुम्भ हैं—घट की भाँति सबके निवासस्थान। वे विशुद्धात्मा हैं—परम निर्मल आत्मस्वरूप; विशोधन हैं—स्मरण मात्र से पापों का नाश कर अन्तःकरण को शुद्ध करने वाले। वे अनिरुद्ध हैं—अवरोध से परे; अप्रतिरथ हैं—जिनका कोई प्रतिद्वन्द्वी नहीं; प्रद्युम्न हैं; और अमितविक्रम हैं—अपरिमित पराक्रम वाले।
