पद्मनाभो5रविन्दाक्ष: पद्मगर्भ: शरीरभृत् । महर्द्धिर््रद्धो वृद्धात्मा महाक्षो गरुडध्वज:
bhīṣma uvāca | padmanābho 'ravindākṣaḥ padmagarbhaḥ śarīrabhṛt | maharddhir ṛddho vṛddhātmā mahākṣo garuḍadhvajaḥ ||
भीष्म ने कहा—वह पद्मनाभ है; अरविन्दाक्ष, कमल-नेत्र; पद्मगर्भ, हृदय-कमल में ध्येय; और शरीरभृत्, देहधारियों का पोषक। वह महान् ऐश्वर्य-सम्पन्न, सर्वोत्कृष्ट, पुरातन आत्मा, विशाल नेत्रोंवाला, और गरुड-ध्वजधारी है—इन नामों से प्रभु की स्तुति होती है।
