The Forest of Material Existence: Jaḍa Bharata Instructs King Rahūgaṇa
रहूगण त्वमपि ह्यध्वनोऽस्य सन्न्यस्तदण्ड: कृतभूतमैत्र: । असज्जितात्मा हरिसेवया शितं ज्ञानासिमादाय तरातिपारम् ॥ २० ॥
rahūgaṇa tvam api hy adhvano ’sya sannyasta-daṇḍaḥ kṛta-bhūta-maitraḥ asaj-jitātmā hari-sevayā śitaṁ jñānāsim ādāya tarāti-pāram
हे रहूगण! तुम भी इस आकर्षणमय मार्ग में बाह्य शक्ति से पीड़ित हो। इसलिए सब प्राणियों के प्रति समदर्शी मित्र बनने हेतु मैं तुम्हें उपदेश देता हूँ—राजपद और दण्ड-धारण का त्याग करो। विषयों में आसक्ति छोड़ो और हरि-सेवा से तीक्ष्ण हुआ ज्ञान-खड्ग धारण करो; तब तुम माया की कठोर गाँठ काटकर अज्ञान-सागर के पार जा सकोगे।
