न वा उ सोमो वृजिनं हिनोति न क्षत्रियं मिथुया धारयन्तम्। हन्ति रक्षो हन्त्यासद् वदन्तमुभाविन्द्रस्य प्रसितौ शयाते

IAST Transliteration

ná vā u sómo vr̥jináṃ hinoti ná kṣatríyaṃ mithuyā́ dhāráyantam | hánti rákṣo hánty ásád vádantam ubhā́v índrasya prásitau śayāte ||

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

Soma, in sooth, impelleth none to crooked sin, nor yet the Kṣatriya who falsely holds his plea. He smiteth down the Rakṣas, smiteth him who speaketh Untruth: both lie beneath the constraint, the cast-bond, of Indra.

Translation

सोम वास्तव में किसी को कुटिल पाप की ओर नहीं ढकेलता, न उस क्षत्रिय को जो मिथ्या वाद को थामे रहता है। वह रक्षस् को मार गिराता है, असत्य बोलने वाले को भी दण्डित करता है; वे दोनों इन्द्र की प्रेरणा-बंधन (प्रसित) के अधीन पड़े रहते हैं।
