Sukta 3
तदग्ने चक्षुः प्रति धेहि रेभे शफारुजो येन पश्यसि यातुधानान्। अथर्ववज्ज्योतिषा दैव्येन सत्यं धूर्वन्तमचितं न्योऽष
tád agne cákṣuḥ práti dhehi rebhé śaphā́rujo yéna páśyasi yātudhā́nān | atharvávaj jyótiṣā daívyena satyáṃ dhū́rvantam acitáṃ ny òṣa ||
Set thou, O Agni, that eye upon thee, O Singer—hoof-shattering—wherewith thou seest the Yātudhānas. With Atharvan-like, heavenly light, burn down the unseen assailant, the true [foe] that works harm.
हे अग्नि! वह दृष्टि (चक्षु) रेभ—हे स्तोता—पर स्थापित कर, वह खुर-भंजक दृष्टि, जिससे तू यातुधानों को देखता है। अथर्वण-सदृश दिव्य ज्योति से उस अदृश्य आक्रमणकारी को—सत्य होकर भी हानि करने वाले शत्रु को—भस्म कर, नीचे दबा दे।
