pitáraḥ páre té mā́vantu | asmín bráhmaṇy asmín kármaṇy asyā́m purodhā́yām asyā́m pratiṣṭhā́yām asyā́m cittíyām asyā́m ākū́tyām asyā́m āśíṣy asyā́m devahū́tyāṃ svā́hā

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

May the Fathers of old, the departed, protect me: in this sacred spell, in this operation; in this fore-setting, in this establishment; in this intent, in this resolve; in this benediction, in this god-invocation—Svāhā!

Translation

प्राचीन, परलोकगामी पितर—वे मेरी रक्षा करें। इस ब्रह्म (पवित्र मंत्र) में, इस कर्म (अनुष्ठान-क्रिया) में; इस पुरोधा (पूर्व-स्थापन) में, इस प्रतिष्ठा में; इस चित्ति (अभिप्राय) में, इस आकूति (संकल्प) में; इस आशिष (आशीर्वाद) में, इस देवहूति (देव-आह्वान) में—स्वाहा।
