Sukta 89
बृहस्पतिर्नः परि पातु पश्चादुतोत्तरस्मादधरादघायोः । इन्द्रः पुरस्तादुत मध्यतो नः सखा सखिभ्यो वरीयः कृणोतु
bṛ́haspátir naḥ pári pātu paścā́d utóttarasmā́d ádharād aghāyóḥ | índraḥ purástād utá madhyató naḥ sákhā sákhibhyo várīyaḥ kṛṇotu
May Bṛhaspati guard us round about—from behind, and from the north, and from beneath, against the evil-doer. May Indra, from the front and from the midst, as our friend, make for our friends a better (safer) state.
बृहस्पति हमें चारों ओर से रक्षा करें—पीछे से, और उत्तर दिशा से, और नीचे से—दुष्ट करने वाले से। और इन्द्र आगे से तथा मध्य से, हमारे मित्र होकर, हमारे मित्रों के लिए अधिक उत्तम (सुरक्षित) अवस्था कर दें।
