यदल्पिकास्वऽल्पिका कर्कधूकेवषद्यते । वासन्तिकमिव तेजनं यन्त्यवाताय वित्पति

IAST Transliteration

yád alpíkāsv àlpikā́ karkadhū́ka iva sád yate | vāsantikám iva téjanam yánty avā́tāya vítpati ||

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

When, in the little places, the little one settles like a karkadhūka; like a vernal goad the motions go on toward the windless calm, O lord of wealth.

Translation

जब छोटे-छोटे स्थानों में वह अल्पिका (छोटी) कर्कधूक की भाँति आकर बैठ जाती है, तब वसन्तकालीन अंकुश-सा वह तेजन (प्रेरक दण्ड) चलता रहता है; हे वित्पति (धन-स्वामी), गतियाँ अवात (निर्वात, वायु-रहित) शान्ति की ओर बढ़ती जाती हैं।
