अनु प्रत्नस्यौकसः प्रियमेधास एषाम्। पूर्वामनु प्रयतिं वृक्तबर्हिषो हितप्रयस आशत

IAST Transliteration

ánu pratnásyaukásaḥ priyámédhāsa eṣām | pū́rvām ánu práyatiṃ vṛ́ktabarhiṣo hitáprayasa āśata

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

Following the ancient seat, these dear-offerers—having strewn the grass and set the oblations—attained, in accordance with the former course, the appointed rite’s successful end.

Translation

प्राचीन आसन/धाम के अनुसार चलते हुए, ये प्रिय-मेधा (प्रिय हवि अर्पित करने वाले) — बर्हि (कुश-घास) बिछाकर और हवि-प्रयास (आहुतियाँ) स्थापित करके — पूर्व-परंपरा के अनुरूप नियत यज्ञ-क्रम की सिद्धि, अर्थात् कर्म का सफल अंत, प्राप्त कर गए।
