Sukta 3
यो दध्रे अन्तरिक्षे न मह्ना पितॄणां कविः प्रमतिर्मतीनाम्। तमर्चत विश्वमित्रा हविर्भिः स नो यमः प्रतरं जीवसे धात्
yó dadhré antárikṣe ná mahnā́ pitṝṇā́ṃ kavíḥ prámatir matīnā́m | tám arcata viśvámitrā́ havírbhiḥ sá no yamáḥ prátaraṃ jīváse dhāt
He who is set in the mid-air, as by his greatness—the Fathers’ sage, the forethought of men’s thoughts—him worship, O ye friends of all, with oblations: may that Yama ordain for us a further passage unto life.
जो अपने महत्त्व से अंतरिक्ष में स्थित है—पितरों का कवि, मनुष्यों की मति का अग्रचिन्तन—उसकी, हे विश्वमित्रो, हवियों से अर्चना करो। वही यम हमारे लिए जीवन की ओर आगे का मार्ग नियत करे।
