इन्द्रो मा मरुत्वान् प्राच्या दिशः पातु बाहुच्युता पृथिवी द्यामिवोपरि । लोककृतः पथिकृतो यजामहे ये देवानां हुतभागा इह स्थ
índro mā marútvān prā́cyā diśáḥ pātu bāhucyútā pṛthivī́ dyā́m iva úpari | lokakṛ́taḥ pathikṛ́to yajāmahe yé devā́nāṃ hutábhāgā ihá sthá ||
May Indra, with the Maruts, guard me from the eastern quarter; and Earth, slipped from my arm, be over me as it were the Sky. The world-ordainers, the path-ordainers—those who have their portion of oblation among the Gods—we worship: here may they stand.
पूर्व दिशा से मरुत्वान् इन्द्र मेरी रक्षा करे; और मेरी बाँह से खिसकी हुई पृथिवी मेरे ऊपर मानो द्यौ (आकाश) की तरह छा जाए। लोककृत्, पथिकृत्—जो देवों में हवि-भाग के अधिकारी हैं—उनका हम यजन करते हैं; वे यहाँ उपस्थित रहें।
