ये युध्यन्ते प्रधनेषु शूरासो ये तनूत्यजः । ये वा सहस्रदक्षिणास्तांश्चिदेवापि गच्छतात्

IAST Transliteration

yé yúdhyante pradháneṣu śū́rāso yé tanū-tyájaḥ | yé vā sahásra-dakṣiṇās tā́ṁś cid evā́pi gacchatāt ||

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

They who fight in battles, the heroes; they who have left the body; or they who are thousand-fee givers—unto those, even unto them also, may he go.

Translation

जो रणभूमि में युद्ध करते हैं—वे शूरवीर; जो देह का त्याग कर चुके हैं; अथवा जो सहस्र-दक्षिणा (हज़ार-दान) देने वाले हैं—उन सबके पास, हाँ, उन्हीं के पास भी वह पहुँचे।
