tásmād amúṃ nír-bhajāmo ’múm āmuṣyāyáṇam ámuṣyāḥ putrám asáu yáḥ
Therefore from him we sever yonder man—yonder, the son of such a mother, the descendant of such a sire, even he who stands there.
इसलिए हम उस पुरुष से उस परे खड़े मनुष्य को अलग करते हैं—वह अमुक माता का पुत्र, अमुक पिता की संतान, वही जो वहाँ खड़ा है।
Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (often treated as Atharvan/Angiras-type material; specific r̥ṣi attribution for AV 16.8 varies in ancillary lists).
Devata: Implicitly the power of Brahman (speech/rite) as coercive agency; no single personal deity foregrounded in this verse.
Chandas: Mixed/irregular (late Atharvanic prose-like cadence; not securely anustubh in this segment).
