Sukta 2
अप्सरसः सधमादं मदन्ति हविर्धानमन्तरा सूर्यं च । तास्ते जनित्रमभि ताः परेहि नमस्ते गन्धर्वर्तुना कृणोमि
apsarásaḥ sadhámādaṃ mádanti havirdhā́nām antárā sū́ryaṃ ca | tā́s te jánitram abhí tā́ḥ paréhi námas te gandharvártunā kṛṇomi
The Apsarases make merry in the common revel, betwixt the offerings-place and the Sun. Unto thy birthplace—unto those—depart thou: obeisance to thee, O Gandharva; with ordered season do I effect it.
अप्सराएँ सधमाद (सामूहिक उत्सव) में हर्षित होती हैं—हविर्धान (हवि-स्थापन-स्थान) और सूर्य के बीच। उन-उनके जनित्र (उत्पत्ति-स्थान) की ओर—उन्हीं के पास—तुम चले जाओ। हे गन्धर्व, तुम्हें नमस्कार; ऋतु (नियत काल-क्रम) के अनुसार मैं यह कर्म सिद्ध करता/करती हूँ।
