अभिक्रन्दन् स्तनयन्नरुणः शितिङ्गो बृहच्छेपोऽनु भूमौ जभार । ब्रह्मचारी सिञ्चति सानौ रेतः पृथिव्यां तेन जीवन्ति प्रदिशश्चतस्रः
abhikrándan stanáyann aruṇáḥ śitíṅgo bṛhácchepo ’nú bhū́mau jabhāra | brahmacārī siñcati sā́nau rétaḥ pṛthivyā́ṃ téna jīvanti pradíśaś cátasraḥ ||
Roaring aloud, thundering, the ruddy one, bright-horned, great-trailed, bore it along and set it upon the earth. The Brahmacārin sprinkles seed upon the height; thereby the Earth is quickened, and by that the four quarters live.
गर्जना करता, मेघ-गर्जन सा निनाद करता, अरुण (रक्तवर्ण) तेजस्वी-शृंग वाला, महान्-शेप (दीर्घ-पूँछ/दीर्घ-प्रसार) उसे उठाकर पृथ्वी पर ले आया और धरती पर रख दिया। ब्रह्मचारी शिखर/ऊँचाई पर रेतस् (वीर्य/बीज) का सिंचन करता है; उससे पृथ्वी सजीव होती है, और उसी से चारों दिशाएँ जीवित रहती हैं।
