Sukta 8
इदं सवितर्वि जानीहि षड् यमा एक एकजः । तस्मिन् हापित्वमिछन्ते य एषामेक एकजः
idáṃ savitar ví jānīhi ṣáḍ yamā́ éka ekajáḥ | tásmin ha āpitvám ichante yá eṣā́m éka ekajáḥ
This, O Savitar, discern thou clearly: six are the paired ordinances; one is the single-born. In him they seek participation and kinship—he who is, of these, the one single-born.
हे सवितर, इसे स्पष्ट जानो: छह यम (युग्म-नियम/जोड़-व्यवस्थाएँ) हैं; एक ‘एकज’—एकमात्र-जन्मा है। उसी में ये सब सहभाग और बंधुत्व (आपित्व) चाहते हैं—वही जो इन सब में ‘एकज’, एकमात्र-जन्मा है।
