Sukta 8
एषा सनत्नी सनमेव जातैषा पुराणी परि सर्वं बभूव । मही देव्यु१षसो विभाती सैकेनैकेन मिषता वि चष्टे
eṣā́ sanatnī́ sánam evá jātā́ eṣā́ purāṇī́ pári sárvaṃ babhūva | mahī́ devy ùṣásaḥ vibhātī́ sā́ ékena ékena míṣatā ví caṣṭe
This is the ancient one, born from of old; this primeval one hath encompassed all around. Great is the Goddess—Dawn—shining forth: she, one by one, beholds distinctly the living that blink.
यह वही सनातनी है, जो प्राचीन काल से जन्मी; यह पुरातनी सब ओर से समस्त को घेरकर व्याप्त हो गई। महान देवी—उषस्—प्रकाशित होकर चमकती है; वह एक-एक करके पलक झपकते जीवित प्राणियों को स्पष्ट देखती है।
