Application: During naivedya and dīpa-upacāra, recite the specified mantras rather than generic speech to maintain Vaidika conformity.

FAQs

It specifies the correct Vedic mantra-set (an octad of ṛk-verses) to be recited when formally presenting naivedya, including formulas such as ‘tejo’si… dīpam’ and the set beginning with ‘Hiraṇyagarbha’.

Beyond mythology, it preserves precise liturgical protocol—linking everyday puja actions (food offering, madhuparka, curd) with Vedic mantra application—showing the text’s breadth as a manual of ritual practice.

Correct nivedana with appropriate mantras sacralizes the offering, aligns the act with Vedic authority, and is traditionally held to increase the purity (śuddhi) and merit (puṇya) of worship through disciplined, reverent procedure.
