Related Themes: Agni Purana 259 (Agneya-vidyā: homa-vidhi and kāmya-karmas)
It prescribes a specific kāmya-homa: offering into Agni while saying “svāhā,” using tilā (sesame), yava (barley), and apāmārga-grains as the oblation materials to obtain bala (strength/vigor).
Alongside theology and myth, the Agni Purana catalogs practical, result-oriented ritual protocols (kamya-karmas), including precise substances and mantra-utterance, functioning like a manual of applied religious technology.
Performed as a disciplined offering to Agni with the proper svāhā-formula and prescribed materials, it is presented as a dharmic means to generate merit and channel ritual efficacy toward acquiring bodily vigor/strength.
