वाताग्नीन्द्रजलात्मानो वर्गेषु च चतुष्टयम् नपुंसकाः पञ्चमाः स्युः स्वराः शक्राम्बुयोनयः

vātāgnīndrajalātmāno vargeṣu ca catuṣṭayam napuṃsakāḥ pañcamāḥ syuḥ svarāḥ śakrāmbuyonayaḥ

व्यंजन-वर्गों में प्रथम चार पंक्तियाँ क्रमशः वात, अग्नि, इन्द्र और जल-स्वरूप कही गई हैं। पाँचवीं पंक्ति नपुंसक मानी जाती है। और स्वर ‘शक्र, अम्बु और योनि’ नामों से निर्दिष्ट किए गए हैं।
