स्कंद उवाच । मित्रावरुणसंभूत कथयामि कथामिमाम् । तत्याज च यथा स्थाणुः काशीं विध्युपरोधतः
skaṃda uvāca | mitrāvaruṇasaṃbhūta kathayāmi kathāmimām | tatyāja ca yathā sthāṇuḥ kāśīṃ vidhyuparodhataḥ
સ્કંદ બોલ્યા—હે મિત્ર-વરুণસમ્ભૂત! હું આ કથા કહું છું—વિંધ્ય પર્વતના અવરોધથી સ્થાણુ (શિવ) એ કાશીને કેવી રીતે ‘ત્યાગી’ એમ કહેવાયું।
