ऋतुः षोडशयामिन्यश्चतस्रस्ता सुगर्हिताः । पुत्रास्तास्वपि या युग्मा अयुग्माः कन्यका प्रजाः
ṛtuḥ ṣoḍaśayāminyaścatasrastā sugarhitāḥ | putrāstāsvapi yā yugmā ayugmāḥ kanyakā prajāḥ
ઋતુ સોળ રાત્રિઓનો હોય છે; તેમાં ચાર અત્યંત નિંદિત છે. બાકી રાત્રિઓમાં પણ સમ રાત્રિએ ગર્ભ રહે તો પુત્ર, અને વિષમ રાત્રિએ રહે તો કન્યા સંતાન થાય છે.
