स्वभावश्चंचलः स्त्रीणां दोषः पुंसामतः स्मृतः । प्रमदासु प्रमाद्यंति क्वचिन्नैव विपश्चितः
svabhāvaścaṃcalaḥ strīṇāṃ doṣaḥ puṃsāmataḥ smṛtaḥ | pramadāsu pramādyaṃti kvacinnaiva vipaścitaḥ
સ્ત્રીઓનો સ્વભાવ ચંચળ છે એમ સ્મૃતિમાં કહેવાયું છે; અને તે પુરુષોના પતનનું કારણ બનતો દોષ માનવામાં આવ્યો છે. સ્ત્રીવિષયે ક્યારેક વિદ્વાન પણ ભ્રમિત થાય છે, જોકે ક્યાંક ક્યાંક તે ભ્રમિત થતો નથી પણ।
