janmāṃtareṣvasaṃkhyeṣu yaḥ kṛtaḥ pāpasaṃcayaḥ | duṣpraṇodyo hi nitarāṃ vratairdānaistapojapaiḥ

અસંખ્ય જન્મોમાં સંગ્રહાયેલ પાપસંચય અત્યંત દુર્નિવાર છે; વ્રત, દાન, તપ અને જપથી પણ તેને દૂર કરવું બહુ કઠિન છે.
