brahmovāca | lohāsura sadā rakṣa vācodharmamabhīkṣṇaśaḥ | tvayā yatprārthitaṃ rudrāttadeva samupasthitam
Brahmā
Tirtha: Dharmāraṇya
Type: kshetra
Listener: Lohāsura
Scene: Brahmā addresses Lohāsura with calm authority, instructing him to protect the dharma of his word; the asura, subdued, listens as a boon’s fulfillment is announced.
The dharma of speech—truthfulness and fidelity to one’s word—is foundational; even power gained by boons must be governed by ethical restraint.
No specific tirtha is named; the teaching aligns with the Dharmāraṇya theme of dharma as a sacred ‘forest’ of virtues.
No external rite is prescribed; the instruction is an inner vow: protect vācodharma (truthful, responsible speech).
