trāhitrāhi mahādevi rakṣarakṣa maheśvari | hanahana dānavaṃ duṣṭaṃ dvijātīnāṃ vighnakārakam
Dvijas (Brāhmaṇas)
Scene: Brāhmaṇas chant in unison, hands raised; the air vibrates with mantric urgency; a fierce, lion-bannered Devī presence is about to descend to strike the dānava.
Devotional invocation (stuti) to the Devī is portrayed as a powerful means to remove dharmic obstacles and restore sacred order.
The broader Dharmāraṇya locale is implied; the verse centers on the Devī’s protective function rather than naming a particular tirtha.
The implied practice is urgent prayer/recitation invoking the Devī for rakṣā (protection) and vighna-nāśa (removal of obstacles).
