This verse teaches that true Śiva-bhakti culminates in dāna (sacred giving): after worship, one shares auspicious wealth for dharma. In a Śaiva Siddhānta lens, such charity purifies the paśu (individual soul) by loosening bonds of possessiveness (pāśa) and aligning one’s action with devotion to Pati (Śiva).
It presents the practical conclusion of Saguna Śiva worship—after honoring the Liṅga with offerings, the devotee seals the rite with an outward act of generosity, expressing that worship is not only ritual but also ethical transformation and compassionate action.
A post-pūjā practice of dāna is prescribed: gifting a cow with her calf and offering a prepared golden seat with covering. The takeaway is to complete Śiva-pūjā with a deliberate act of charity as part of the rite’s fruition.
