Cosmic Event: prajāpati-progeny listing within manvantara genealogy
It preserves the Purāṇic genealogy that frames cosmic order (dharma) under Shiva’s sovereignty as Pati—showing how manifested creation proceeds through progenitors (Prajāpatis) while the Supreme remains the regulating Lord.
Although the verse is genealogical, it supports the wider Shaiva narrative: the many names and lineages belong to the manifest realm, while Linga-worship centers the devotee on Shiva as the stable, worshipful Saguna focus who governs all generations and worlds.
No specific rite is prescribed in this verse; a practical takeaway is to recite the Panchakshara mantra ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") while studying such lineages, remembering Shiva as the inner ruler of all beings and births.
