Significance: Colophon (iti) marks completion; traditional benefit is śravaṇa/paṭhana-phala of sarga-kathā within Śiva Purāṇa, but no specific tīrtha is invoked here.
Shakti Form: Umā
Role: teaching
It is a colophon marking the completion of the chapter on creation, reminding the reader that the teaching is preserved within the authoritative Śiva Purāṇa tradition centered on Śiva (Pati) as the supreme ground of cosmic manifestation.
By concluding a chapter on sarga within the Umāsaṃhitā, it frames creation as intelligible through Śiva’s lordship—often approached devotionally through Saguna worship such as the Liṅga, which symbolizes Śiva as both transcendent and immanent.
As a chapter-ending marker, it chiefly suggests śravaṇa and manana (listening and contemplation); a fitting practice is to conclude study with japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” and a brief dhyāna on Śiva as the source of creation.
