Lord Shiva (inferred, Umāsaṃhitā philosophical instruction)
Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: teaching
It highlights discernment (viveka): the body constantly expels impure waste, while a subtle nourishing essence sustains life—pointing the seeker toward inner purification and detachment from mere bodily identity, a key Shaiva Siddhanta orientation toward liberation.
Linga-worship trains the mind to shift from perishable bodily processes (mala and waste) to the sustaining divine principle (Pati). By honoring Saguna Shiva through the Linga, the devotee cultivates purity and steadiness that support inner realization.
A practical takeaway is daily purification and restraint: apply Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) with remembrance of Shiva, repeat the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), and practice moderation in diet and senses—supporting inner “rasa” as sattvic vitality for sadhana.
