Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Sthala Purana: Not tied to a jyotirliṅga; the nāḍī-network imagery illustrates the subtle apparatus through which māyā and karma operate as pāśa (bondage).
Significance: Frames the body as a field of subtle conditioning; motivates disciplined sādhana and reliance on Śiva’s anugraha to transcend the māyīya-kārmika net.
Role: teaching
It frames the human body as a field of both visible and invisible forces, filled with countless nāḍīs, preparing the seeker to turn inward—purifying the subtle body so the soul (paśu) may be released from bondage (pāśa) and oriented to Shiva (Pati).
By teaching that the body is interwoven with subtle channels, the Purana implies that external Linga-worship should be supported by internal discipline—steady prāṇa and purified nāḍīs—so devotion to Saguna Shiva becomes a direct means toward realizing Shiva’s higher, transcendent reality.
Nādī-śuddhi and prāṇāyāma aligned with japa—especially the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya)—as inner purification that complements Shaiva observances such as bhasma (Tripuṇḍra) and Rudrākṣa.
