The verse teaches that even when a sacred Shaiva substance or observance appears in different conditions—dry, lifeless, or fresh—its connection to Shiva and dharmic use makes it a purifier that destroys sins, emphasizing inner devotion over mere external appearance.
In Saguna Shiva worship, devotees approach Shiva through tangible supports (such as Linga-centered ritual materials and observances). This verse affirms that such supports remain spiritually efficacious across differing physical states when used with Shiva-bhakti and proper intent.
Adopt consistent Shaiva purity-practices—Linga worship with devotion, and reverent use of sanctified ritual materials (as taught in the Purana)—understanding that their spiritual potency depends on Shiva-bhakti and right application rather than outward condition alone.
