It teaches that joyful, devotion-filled charity (dāna) offered with discernment to a worthy, scripturally grounded recipient becomes a direct support for attaining the highest spiritual end—liberation by Shiva’s grace.
In Saguna Shiva worship, devotion is expressed not only through pūjā to the Liṅga but also through dharmic conduct; giving auspicious gifts to qualified devotees and teachers is treated as an extension of Shiva-bhakti that purifies the soul.
It implies pātra-dāna—making auspicious donations with a pure intention, ideally alongside Shiva-oriented observances (japa of the Panchākṣarī, wearing bhasma/tripuṇḍra, or Mahāśivarātri vrata) to deepen inner purity and devotion.
