मेना-हिमालयसंवादः
Menā’s Counsel to Himālaya; Response to Slander of Śiva
स्थित्वाग्रे ऋषयः श्रेष्ठं नत्वा स्तुत्वा शिवं मुने । मेनिरे च तदात्मानं कृतार्थं ते तपस्विनः
sthitvāgre ṛṣayaḥ śreṣṭhaṃ natvā stutvā śivaṃ mune | menire ca tadātmānaṃ kṛtārthaṃ te tapasvinaḥ
Sūta Gosvāmi (narrating to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Darśana and stuti of Śiva culminate in kṛtārthatā (sense of life’s purpose fulfilled), indicating the fruit of bhakti beyond mere ritual merit.
Type: stotra
Offering: pushpa
It teaches that simply coming into Śiva’s presence with humility (namaskāra) and sincere praise (stuti) can make a seeker feel kṛtārtha—fulfilled—because Śiva, as Pati, is the ultimate goal and giver of grace.
The verse highlights saguna-upāsanā through visible devotion—standing before Śiva, bowing, and praising—an approach mirrored in Liṅga worship where the devotee offers namaskāra, stotra, and ārādhana to experience Śiva’s nearness and blessing.
A practical takeaway is daily Śiva-namaskāra and stotra-japa (such as repeating the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) before Śiva’s form—especially the Liṅga—cultivating humility and gratitude as a doorway to inner fulfillment.
