ऋषयश्छन्नरूपास्ते ऋषिपत्न्यस्तथाशुभाः । ऊचुस्तत्र तदा सर्वे किं कृतं गौतमेन च

ત્યારે તે ઋષિઓ પોતાનું સાચું સ્વરૂપ છુપાવી બેઠા હતા અને તેમની પત્નીઓ પણ અશુભ ભાવથી પ્રેરિત હતી. તે સમયે ત્યાં સૌએ કહ્યું—“ગૌતમએ ખરેખર શું કર્યું?”
