વસિષ્ઠનું આ ટૂંકું સૂક્ત આદિત્યોને—ખાસ કરીને મિત્ર અને વરુણને—સ્થિરતા, રક્ષણ, કુળપરંપરાનું સંરક્ષણ, તેમજ વારસામાં મળેલા અથવા બાહ્ય કારણોથી ઉપજેલા અપરાધ/દોષથી મુક્તિ માટે પ્રાર્થના કરે છે. ઉપાસકો દ્યાવા-પૃથિવી (આકાશ અને પૃથ્વી) જેવી ‘આધારરૂપ’ સ્થિતિ પ્રાપ્ત કરે એવી વિનંતી છે. અંતે અંગિરસોએ સવિતૃનો ખજાનો પ્રાપ્ત કર્યો એવી દૃષ્ટિ સાથે સૂક્ત પૂર્ણ થાય છે, અને સર્વ દેવતાઓ યજમાનને આશીર્વાદ આપવા સંમતિ આપે છે.

आदित्यासो अदितयः स्याम पूर्देवत्रा वसवो मर्त्यत्रा । सनेम मित्रावरुणा सनन्तो भवेम द्यावापृथिवी भवन्तः ॥
અમે આદિત્ય—અદિતિના પુત્રો—થઈએ; દેવમાર્ગમાં દૃઢ આધાર બનીએ અને મર્ત્યમાર્ગમાં પણ. હે મિત્ર-વરুণ, વિજયી અને સદા વિજયી, અમને વિજય પ્રાપ્ત થાઓ; દ્યાવા-પૃથિવી સમા સ્થિર આધાર બનીને, કાર્ય માટે પાયારૂપ બનીએ.

मित्रस्तन्नो वरुणो मामहन्त शर्म तोकाय तनयाय गोपाः । मा वो भुजेमान्यजातमेनो मा तत्कर्म वसवो यच्चयध्वे ॥
મિત્ર અને વરুণ અમારે માટે મહાન આશ્રય વધારતા રહે—અમારા બાળક અને સંતાનના રક્ષક બની. અન્યજન્ય પાપ માટે અમે ભોગ ન ભોગવીએ; અને હે વસુઓ, તમે જે કર્મનું પરિણામ બાંધી રાખો છો, તે અમારે પર ન બાંધો.

तुरण्यवोऽङ्गिरसो नक्षन्त रत्नं देवस्य सवितुरियानाः । पिता च तन्नो महान्यजत्रो विश्वे देवाः समनसो जुषन्त ॥
દ્રુતગામી અઙ્ગિરસો, દેવ સવિતાના માર્ગે યાત્રા કરતાં, રત્ન—ધનને પ્રાપ્ત કરે છે. અને તે મહાન, યજ્ઞયોગ્ય પિતા તે અમને અર્પે; સર્વ દેવો એકમન થઈ, અમારા અંતરમાં તેમાં આનંદ લે.
