Sukta 4.54
देवेभ्यो हि प्रथमं यज्ञियेभ्योऽमृतत्वं सुवसि भागमुत्तमम् । आदिद्दामानं सवितर्व्यूर्णुषेऽनूचीना जीविता मानुषेभ्यः ॥
devebhyo hi prathamaṃ yajñiyebhyo 'mṛtatvaṃ suvasi bhāgam uttamam | ādid dāmānaṃ savitar vy ūrṇuṣe 'nūcīnā jīvitā mānuṣebhyaḥ ||
કારણ કે યજ્ઞિય દેવો માટે તું પ્રથમ અમૃતત્વનો ઉત્તમ ભાગ પ્રવર્તાવે છે; ત્યારબાદ, હે સવિતર્, તું દામન (નિયત વિધાન/મર્યાદા) ઉઘાડી આપે છે, અને તેના અનુસરણમાં મનુષ્યો માટે જીવનની ધારા વિસ્તારે છે.
