આ સંક્ષિપ્ત સૂક્ત દૈવી કારીગર-શક્તિઓ એવા ઋભુઓને અને તેમના “પુત્રો” (તેમની શક્તિઓ/પ્રભાવોને) આવાહન કરે છે—જે મહાન કાર્યને વિસ્તારે અને પરિપૂર્ણ કરે છે; પૃથ્વીને માતા-ગાય સમજી તેની પાસેથી પોષણ ગ્રહણ કરે છે. ત્યારબાદ તે યજ્ઞની કર્તૃત્વશક્તિ તરફ વળે છે: દેવ-શોધક હોતૃ અને અગ્નિ—સુયોગ્ય રીતે દોરાયેલા રથની જેમ ગતિમાન—રક્ષણ માટે આપણામાં “ઘડાયેલા” થાય છે અને જીવનને અમર ઉદ્ભવ તરફ વિસ્તારે છે.

प्र सूनव ऋभूणां बृहन्नवन्त वृजना । क्षामा ये विश्वधायसोऽश्नन्धेनुं न मातरम् ॥
આગળ વધો, ઋભુઓના પુત્રો; હે ક્રિયાશીલ વીરોઃ વિશાળ કાર્યને વિસ્તારો. તમે જે સર્વ રીતે સર્વને ધારણ કરો છો, પોષક ક્ષામા (પૃથ્વી)ને માતા-ગાય સમી માનીને પોષણ ગ્રહણ કરો; તેનીમાંથી યાત્રા માટે સ્થિર સમૃદ્ધિ દોહો.

प्र देवं देव्या धिया भरता जातवेदसम् । हव्या नो वक्षदानुषक् ॥
દિવ્ય ધિયા વડે દેવને આગળ લાવો—જાતવેદસને, જે સર્વ જન્મોને જાણે છે. તે અમારી હવ્યોને વહન કરે અને અનુષક્ ક્રમે આગળ પહોંચાડે—માનવીય યજ્ઞગતિને જ્ઞાનના શાશ્વત અગ્નિ સાથે જોડતો.

अयमु ष्य प्र देवयुर्होता यज्ञाय नीयते । रथो न योरभीवृतो घृणीवाञ्चेतति त्मना ॥
આ જ દેવયુ—હોતૃ—યજ્ઞ માટે આગળ દોરવામાં આવે છે. જેમ માર્ગમાં સુઘેર ઘેરાયેલો રથ, તેજસ્વી ઉષ્માથી ભરેલો, તેમ તે પોતાના જ આત્મબળે/અંતઃચેતનાથી ગતિ કરે છે.

अयमग्निरुरुष्यत्यमृतादिव जन्मनः । सहसश्चित्सहीयान्देवो जीवातवे कृतः ॥
આ અગ્નિ અમારું અસ્તિત્વ વિસ્તારે છે અને રક્ષે છે—જાણે અમૃતમાંથી જ જન્મેલો હોય. બળ કરતાં પણ વધુ બળવાન, દેવ આપણામાં જીવવા માટે ઘડાયો છે.
